Born with Cerebral palsy, Elaine has always felt self-conscious of her disability and has had to find ways of doing things with the ability she has. After the sudden and tragic death of her mother last year, her confidence took a severe blow and she has been looking for a challenge to put her life back on track.
She had always enjoyed flying despite having a fear of heights. She read on Facebook about a fellow Cerebral Palsy sufferer who had learnt to fly after being awarded a FSDP scholarship so decided to apply herself.
“I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be able to learn to fly due to my physical health. A scholarship will enable me to focus on getting my confidence back. It will give me purpose and help me regain a positive outlook on life. I am doing this for my Mum too!”
