Tracey was fit and healthy with a positive outlook on life until 10 years ago she started having problems with her mobility. After numerous tests she was eventually diagnosed with Heredity Spastic Paraplegia in 2012.
Today everything is a mental and physical struggle for her. She can no longer walk down a flight of stairs and had to sell her beloved house to move into a bungalow. Because of her extreme fatigue she often has to take time off work to simply re-set her body clock.
“Being awarded a scholarship will help me focus more on what I CAN achieve despite my HSP, rather than getting down and frustrated about the things I can no longer do. It will be an amazing opportunity and a personal challenge I am really looking forward to. It will help me through my tougher days when I struggle to be positive about my disability.”
