Just a peedie (Orcadian word for small) update from our 2022 scholar Hayley Budge up in Orkney…
I’m surprised and humbled that today, the Orkney Rotary Club presented me with the Groundwater-Appleyard Community Service Award for having been “deemed to have worked hard for the community”.
As an individual I haven’t done much, I just have ideas and get them going… Other people are then inspired to come together and have, over the years, raised a lot of money and awareness for different charities. I really enjoy bringing folk together to achieve something good.
This award today, for me it represents recognition of the wonderfully supportive community that we live in. Thank you all very much x
