Today we say farewell and an enormous thank you to FSDP supporter Michael Ashdown. The collection at his funeral raised an astounding £585 for FSDP, for which we are immensely grateful to all those that gave in his honour. In his daughter Lucy’s words:
“Dad was a jet pilot during National Service and hoped to go on to be a commercial pilot . His log books show he had great promise but life circumstances meant that his ambition was not fulfilled and he was unable to pursue this career. His first love of aviation never dimmed and he’d love to know the donation will help others to learn to fly and share the experiences he had so loved himself. One of his daughters worked for RIAT, so he visited the FSDP stand whenever he came to one of the amazing Air Tattoos.”
